I grabbed a stick at the pond outside the apartment and stuck it into the water. It got all scummy, so I started to spin around to try and get the scum to fall off. I heard Grandma Betty yelling "Watch out!", but it was too late. I splashed right into the scum. I doggie-paddled to the bank and Grandma pulled me out. My skirt was ruined and my whole body was covered in green scum. I had to come inside and take a shower. Then I ate some popcorn and watched a movie.
Now I want to tell you about this rabbit that my Grandma is making for me. She is going to knit a rabbit and I am going to stuff it.
My Grandma has a tomato that she pokes her needles in. I drew a face on the tomato and poked some long needles for legs. I call it the tomato monster. I named it Eddy.
The plane ride was very fun. They had little TVs in the back of each seat and your own remote control. I watched the Princess and the Frog and 101 Dalmations. The food wasn't that good, though. I ate it anyway.
I'm too tired to write anymore right now, so that's all for my first entry. Make some comments!
Bye!
Hi Maya! My son is Colin and was in Elliot's class last year, and your mom told me about your blog. I think it's great that you are blogging about your trip to Europe. I can't wait to hear all about it. That's too bad about the falling in the scum. Sounds like something that Colin would do!
ReplyDeleteSounds like an action-packed first day! I'm glad you know how to swim through "Scum" and I can't wait to see your rabbit when it's complete! I miss you all very much, but got the BEST hugs at the airport! Talk to you soon!
ReplyDeleteLove, Dad
Hi Maya! First off, your apple pie that you left was terrific - the filling was the best part how it stayed all together. Second, we thought that maybe you had some left and we could just go in your house and get more. Third, take lots of pictures and take care of your mom and brother! Miss you, Deena
ReplyDeletePOND SCUM!!!???!! OH NO! That is so gross. I, too, am very glad you can swim.
ReplyDeleteRuby Kate and I are really going to miss you this summer. Good thing you are such a great writer, so we can enjoy your blog.
The tomato monster fellow is well, um...lovely? ha ha. You are so creative. When uncle Brad saw it, he said, "She really is a good artist, you know?" LIKE I DIDN'T ALREADY KNOW! ha...who does he think he's talking to, if not your biggest fan!!??!!
Anyway, keep on having a good time and going on these great adventures. Just don't run off with any strangers...especially the froggy prince kind!
xoxo - Aunt Kimmie
