Le Tour!

Today we saw the most famous bike riding race in the whole world! But first we stopped at a really great playground. We played there for a while then went to the river to watch the parade and bike race. First came the parade where all these advertisement trucks and yelling people and police cars and motorcycles and stuff like that came by. We waited until the parade was over then there were a few cars making sure the road was clear. A few motorcycles, trucks with loud music and buses full of people. It took longer than we thought it should have been, but when we got home we figured out why. It's a really silly excuse so try not to laugh---they had to delay the start of the race because the riders couldn't figure out what to wear!!!!! Ha! Ha! Ha! When I saw them, I was like "Phewf! They are finally here!" But when I saw how fast they went by and how quickly it was over, I wanted to go right back to the playground! Mom let us play for a LOOONNNNNNGG time. We found another patisserie on the way back and I got, of course, a lemon pie, two actually, a petit one and a grande one.

  1. Hi Maya, Although you probably don't remember me I meet you when you were a tiny, precious baby. I have a son Connor just a few weeks younger than you. Anyway, I am so excited to follow your European Tour! I am so impressed by your descriptive writing. Sorry you had to wait so long for the bike riders....that might be my fault since I suggested to your mommy to try to catch a glimp of the Tour de France! I especially liked your comment about the riders couldn't figure out what to wear:) Well, enjoy the rest of your vacation and I look forward to reading about your European adventures. Give my love to your mommy and daddy! XO, Paige

  2. OH MAYA! I am so happy you got to see "Le Tour de France". You may not know it, but that race is a very, very important race to many people in the world, Especially so for a few of mine and your mommy's friends in Colorado. I can't believe you experienced both the world cup and the tour de france on your trip. A lovely time to be in Holland and France indeed!

I love you sweetie! and I saw that Miss Paige commented on this entry as well. When you get back, we need to make a trip to visit her. Talk to your mommy about it.

    xoxoxoxo missing you so much!

  3. I did have to laugh about the bicycle racers having trouble deciding what to wear! I didn't know they had so many choices!
